Capricorn, December 22nd – January 19th
Represented by the mythological sea goat creature sporting the body of a goat and a fish tail, Capricorns are known to exemplify the best of both worlds. They know how to tap into their emotions without ever loosing focus on their ambitions, which can often make them come across as cold and dry.
Ruled by Saturn, whose energies are extremely strong and challenging, Capricorns go through life wearing a tough shell and can overcome any hardships life throws their way. Capricorns may be incredibly sincere and rational, but that doesn’t mean they don’t know how to have fun and let loose every now and then.
Aquarius, January 20th – February 18th
Given the name, we might assume that Aquarius is a water sign when, in fact, it is the zodiac’s last air sign. The signs’ symbol, a water bearer, informs one of the main personal traits of the Aquarian, namely their undeniable purpose in life which is to support those in need.
Often eccentric, conspicuous in their appearance and styles, they are the first to join protests for change, but they’ll often forget those closest to them when they go off on their little adventures.
While Aquarians are all about community and teamwork, they are also righteous and stubborn which can often lead to clashes. They need a perfect balance between community and their own personal space to thrive.
Pisces, February 19th – March 20th
Pisces tend to live in two worlds – their own fantasy world and reality. This duality is perfectly captured in their sign: two fish swimming in opposite directions.
Pisces are ruled by Neptune, making them incredibly creative and prone to daydreaming. Their imagination is inexhaustible, and while this personality trait can be contagious, it can also be frustrating to those on the sidelines, especially when Pisces refuse to see the world through anything other than rose-tinted glasses.
Aries, March 21st – April 19th
Ruled by Mars, Aries belong to the element of fire, which makes perfect sense given their personality traits: they are impulsive, courageous, enthusiastic, aggressive and constantly in action. Represented by a ram, one can see where Aries get their stubbornness from.
Aries are independent and always in search of the next adventure. Their impulsiveness and impatience often cause them to jump right into a situation or relationship without further consideration, which can prove problematic at times.
Taurus, April 20th – May 20th
The Taurus may be drawn to all things beautiful and materialistic, but of all the zodiac signs, this is the most reliable and practical. They love to surround themselves by love and are forever looking for perfect harmony in their relationships.
The Taurus likes to follow tradition and usually has conservative attitudes. They are creatures of habit and usually find their most important relationships and friendships within their own social circles, finding it difficult to open to outsiders quickly.
Gemini May 21st – June 20th
Geminis are air signs and are famous for being unpredictable, indecisive and quick to adapt to changes. Represented by two twin faces, the Gemini always seems to be in search of their other half, which explains their tendency to strike up new friendships and social contacts.
They can go from being bubbly and passionately engaged in a heated conversation, to retreating within themselves and becoming thoughtful and restless. This star sign has a serious fear of missing out on everything the world has to offer which can make it difficult on the zodiacs that are a lot more grounded.
Cancer, June 21st – July 22nd
The Cancer is represented by a crab, whose shell offers a sense of home and security. This very much informs one of the most important traits of those born in the Cancer month, as they are equally determined to create beautiful and harmonious home environments.
Cancers are extremely intuitive and sensitive, which makes it easy for them to feel out other people’s needs and state of wellbeing. They are not prone to share much about themselves or their emotional make-up, which can lead to moodiness or brooding when their needs aren’t being met.
Leo, July 23rd – August 22nd
Just like the lion in the jungle, the zodiac’s Leo has an air of royalty. Leos are proud people who have a clear and rational outlook on life but can’t always find the vocabulary to communicate their own fiery emotions.
Leos are loyal, warm and patient, with a strong energy that often seems to exist to motivate others. They are as good at lazing around in the sun as they are at taking action, even if they find it difficult to determine the right direction at times.
Virgo, August 23rd – September 22nd
A Virgo’s mind never stands still – it is always assessing, analyzing and anxious. They are very detail-orientated and organized and prefer to take matters into their own hands. Their analytical nature can cause them to be very critical, of others as well as themselves.
Virgo’s are hard-working and never satisfied – they are always looking to improve themselves, others and the environment they live in. When not achieved, this can be devastating to them. Staying active is the best way for Virgos to release their anxieties.
Libra, September 23rd – October 22nd
Represented by scales, the Libra is always weighing their best options and aren’t quick to jump into situations that haven’t been thought out properly. They are all about harmony and try to find unity with those around them.
Libras are very diplomatic and do not handle confrontation well, which can make it difficult to trust them, seeing as they often leave unresolved issues brooding, leading them to passive aggressive behavior.
Scorpio October 23rd – November 21st
The Scorpio is deeply emotional but is prone to keeping all those feelings to themselves. They are very private individuals who like to observe the world around them and are always digging deeper to find the truth. They are great secret-keepers and extremely loyal.
Scorpios keep to themselves for fear of getting hurt by those they love the most and, when they do, you can practically count on being stung by them – because a Scorpio never forgets and can be very vengeful.
Sagittarius, November 22nd – December 21st
Sagittarians don’t like to stand still for too long – they get bored quickly and are always exploring new things, new places and new knowledge. They are open-minded and have a hard time dealing with closed-minded people.
They are very optimistic which, at times, can lead to denial and an inability to see things for what they truly are, a bit like the Pisces. They are spiritual beings who believe that there is more out there, hence they need a partner who will not try to tie them down.
